Coffee comes from some of the most remote places in the world, and there are a number of key environmental conditions that allow for the creation of incredible coffees: Altitude, temperature, adequate sun exposure, good rainfall, and healthy soil are all critical factors that make great coffee possible.
Follow the equator around the globe, look for places with elevations between 1200-2000 meters above sea level, and you will find the areas where top quality can be developed.
We invest a lot of time into the process of sourcing our coffee and are continually working on how we approach green coffee sourcing better. We only work with coffee importers who share our values and methodology and who have extensive relationships with the coffee producers while recognize the complexities of sourcing quality green coffee with true understanding to social and environmental impact.
Coffee roasting is an intensely dynamic combination of art and science where a batch of raw, green coffee beans is transformed into a caramelized state which can be ground, brewed, and enjoyed over and over again.
We refer to both the machines and the people who operate them as “roasters,” and we couldn’t have one without the other.
The goal of the roaster is to unlock the many potential flavors that lie dormant within the green beans to achieve a delicate, balanced cup that best showcases the characteristics that make each coffee unique.
As coffee roasters we have a responsibility to translate a coffee unique taste and heritage while maintaining its origin fingerprint. With more than 25 years’ experience and passion for what we love to do while maintaining our goal to showcase the care and hard work of the coffee producers. Like a skilled professional athlete, our roaster responds to a number of factors and reacts intuitively, drawing from their knowledge of green coffee.
We roast all our coffee on a Giesen roaster and use cropster to carefully manage our roast curves.
From farm to cup we pride ourselves on roasting coffee that make the perfect drink every time. At the end of each day and after all our coffee has been quality checked, the journey of our coffee starts is around Ireland to all our loyal consumers
Roasting coffee can be exhausting work but we never complain as we love what we do.
At Bell lane our barista trainers know a thing or two about coffee and they want to share it with you all. We want to innovate and further educate all those we teach from delivering the best espresso to steaming milk, latte art, dialing in coffee, brewing filter coffee to the correct grind for home brew methods. We work with wholesale customers on the layout and flow of their cafés, making best use of their space.
Our barista trainer’s visit all our wholesale customers throughout the year to make sure best quality-standards are being met, we can also offer a little helping hand when and where they are required. At Bell lane we are focused on delivering our coffee through your café in a consistent manner and making sure all the elements of delivery are met.
