Wilder Lasso - Caturra 250g
Wilder Lasso is relatively new to the coffee scene. He is a veterinarian by trade but returned to his farming roots in 2017 when his father needed help on the farm. His family has strong coffee-growing roots which gave Wilder the knowledge to dive straight into specialty coffee growing. Wilder excelled in coffee production and began a varietal program that now includes more than 12 different varieties.
This coffee was grown by Wilder at his farm El Mirador. The coffee was harvested following strict ripeness criteria, floated, and hand-sorted to remove any defects. Cherries were then exposed to 30 hours of underwater fermentation before being pulped. The parchment was gently washed and dried in temperature-controlled conditions until ideal moisture content was achieved.
This micro-lot is 100% Caturra, a variety that originated in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is a natural mutation of Red Bourbon. Caturra produces more coffee and is more resistant to plant diseases than Bourbon.
