Finca Nogalniyoc came to the Alagon family in 1967 as part of the agrarian reform which was taking place in Peru. Mr Teofi lo Alagon, received the land to grow basic agricultural products. In 2000, 5 hectares were transferred as an inheritance to the Melgarejo Alagon
family. Ederson introduced coffee to his plot back then, investing in varieties that yield good flavour profiles such as Typica, Bourbon and Geisha. They are currently being
produced with better technology with the support of projects executed by the Municipality.
Thanks to these initiatives, Ederson has been able to build his own small facilities to process coffee. He also has a polytunnel with raised beds and tanks for fermentation. This coffee was short-listed by the Cup of Excellence (COE) jury in Peru this year. This lot did not make it to the international phase. However, this is an outstanding coffee amongst the best the country can offer!
