Paul's Tee

Our super-talented Paul has designed his first TShirt for Bell Lane & what a job he did!  As always we partnered with Stanley & Stella they source only the best raw materials, grown or produced in ways that do not harm people, animals or the environment.

Since joining the warehouse team back in June I have learned so much about what goes on behind the scenes at Bell Lane. There were talks of launching a new t-shirt so I had to throw my hat into the mix. I knew I wanted to create an illustration that reflected life in the roastery which consisted of good craic, working hard as a team and drinking a copious amount of coffee. With that in mind I began the first process of throwing ideas onto paper.

Getting the ideas from your head onto paper can be the most fun but most frustrating part when nothing comes to mind. The less detail the better, it is more about composition and making a foundation to build on.

After I found a trail to follow I got cracking on the iPad, opening up an app called procreate that is great for sketching and refining those initial ideas. Once I was happy with the layout of everything and the style of the illustration, I then transferred over to Adobe Illustrator to vectorise the design and make a few more changes before we were ready to send it off to the printers. :)

 It’s been so fun getting to work on this project. Honestly, I love any opportunity to get creative. When I get to showcase some of the great experiences of working with a great group of people, then that’s just the cherry on top!
